Here's what you can expect on your first visit.

Arrive at Salem

We are located at 186 E. Court Street in Doylestown. You can park in the lot behind the church (off of Belmont Ave.) or along E. Court Street.

Welcome in

Our greeters are located at both the front and back entrances of the church. They will welcome you, answer any questions you have, and provide you with a worship bulletin. Our sanctuary is located on our top floor and there is an elevator that can be accessed from either entrance.

Grab a seat and enjoy worship

Take a seat where you feel most comfortable. If you've never been to church before - that's okay! We have a very casual and relaxed atmosphere. Your worship bulletin will tell you everything you need to know. If you have young children, we recommend checking out our Pray-Ground at the front of the Sanctuary.

Get Connected

After each worship service, we offer coffee, treats, and conversation in our Assembly Room. Stick around after worship and see what our community is really like!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

What can I expect in worship?

Some folks dress up. Most are pretty casual. We encourage you to come in whatever makes you comfortable. The most important part is that you are here among us.

Are my kids welcome?

We love kids! The loud and wiggly, the quiet and shy, the neuro-spicy, the too cool for school. Read more here about the ways we include kids at Salem.
Our worship is joy-filled and interactive. Each service includes great music, prayer, scripture, and a sermon that wrestles with what it means to follow the path of God's love with complexity, grace, and compassion. We laugh a lot. We cry sometimes, too. A typical service lasts about an hour, and on the first Sunday of the month we share intergenerational worship and communion, where EVERYONE is welcome. You can learn more about our worship service here

What do I have to believe?

Salem is home to people from all sorts of religious backgrounds and those with no religious background. We are a Christian church that is neither doctrinal nor dogmatic. We are a part of the United Church of Christ, a progressive Protestant denomination.

Who is welcome at Salem?

Every week Pastor Alexis says, "No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here." She means it. So do we. Click here to read more about our commitment to welcoming everyone!
